A light at the end of the tunnel

The last few days have been more positive.

I saw a lovely kind doctor. He checked me over and cleared me to have a bath. I had a bath. The joy! A lovely long soak in hot water with Neals Yard bubbles. I even did a face mask. I am normally too impatient but I wanted to savour this. The first time I have felt completely clean since being in hospital.

Yesterday I saw a physio. She massaged my scar with massage oil. Totally bizarre experience. Not painful but not pleasant. It just felt weird.

She still urged me not to walk too far but has given me a collection of exercises to strengthen my stomach and to help my back. She talked about gradually walking longer distances then doing couch to 5k. Light at the end of the tunnel.

I ended up asleep after the physio, a gentle reminder that I am still not myself.

Oh and I got some gorgeous Lucy and Yak dungarees. I only wear dungarees and tracksuit bottoms post op. I deserve a treat!
